The new Torche (Meandethal) is the best thing I've heard this year.
Pop goth stoner rock? Yes.
Avoidance of sophomore album sameness a la The Sword's 2nd. Indeed.

Just listen to "Healer" and try to hate them. 2:01 is all you need.

Torche came recommended to me by my friends in the band Hoth, and we pretty much see exactly eye to eye on hardcore (Botch, Coalesce), so now they're double + good well spoken of. They're the ones that do the 'bomb string' aren't they?

They have Coalesce and GA connections, but they aren't HC at all. Almost poppy in a mid-90 metal sense with Orange amps on this one.
